A world-renowned expert on renewable energy, Mr. Tanti believes in creating sustainable businesses and a sustainable world through energy independence and security.

JP Chalasani joined Suzlon in April 2016. Renowned for project management and people leadership skills, Mr. Chalasani brings to the company more than 30 years of experience of working in the Indian power sector, especially with companies like NTPC, Reliance Power and Punj Lloyd.

A key member of Suzlon since its inception, Vinod Tanti has worked in various capacities, including Chief Manufacturing Officer (Supply Chain) and whole-time Director. He has been involved in project planning, detailed wind mapping and micro-siting for wind projects. Mr. Tanti’s primary focus is on creating alignment and facilitating synergies in the value chain.

An internationally recognised specialist in energy management, energy efficiency, energy policy, and regulatory and technology issues, V Raghuraman currently serves as the Principal Advisor and Chief Coordinator of Confederation of Indian Industry’s Energy Programme. He has also served as the Chairman of World Energy Efficiency Association and Secretary General of Assocham.

Marc Desaedeleer

Mr. Marc Desaedeleer retired in early July 2018 from TRG (The Rohatyn Group) where he was a partner and a member of its Executive Committee. Prior to this, he was the Chief Investment Officer of Citigroup Venture Capital International (CVCI) Growth Fund I and Growth Fund II, respectively a $1.6Bn and a $4.3Bn Private Equity Fund focused on Emerging Markets. Before becoming CIO of CVCI, he led CVCI’s business in CEEMEA and India from 2001 to 2005. Prior to this he was a senior manager of Citibank’s Corporate Banking business covering over 20 countries focusing on Central Europe and Russia. In prior positions within Citigroup, Mr. Marc Desaedeleer was Business Manager for Citibank’s Corporate and Investment Banking business in France; managed several international businesses within Citibank’s Investment Banking group including ADRs; and was responsible for Citibank’s strategy in Global Equities. Before joining Citigroup, Mr. Marc Desaedeleer worked for several international companies including Sulzer (Switzerland) and Lisnave (Portugal). Mr. Marc Desaedeleer holds an M.B.A. degree from Carnegie Mellon University and Masters in Science degrees from the University of Louvain (Belgium).

Ravi Uppal

Ravi Uppal has wide-ranging business experience, spanning over 40 years in engineering, manufacturing and infrastructure segments in India and abroad. He served as the MD & Group CEO of Jindal Steel & Power Limited, Whole-time Director of L&T Group Board and MD & CEO (Power) at L&T, held various positions in ABB Group, and is credited as being the Founding MD of Volvo in India. Mr. Uppal has worked for over 15 years in diverse roles in Europe, Middle East, North Africa and South East Asia. He has recently set up a new venture, SISCOL in partnership with the legendary infrastructure company YONGNAM, of Singapore which is undertaking steel based civil & industrial infrastructure in India. Mr. Uppal holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the IIT Delhi, which has honoured him as a Distinguished Alumni. He is also an alumnus of the IIM Ahmedabad. He has also done Advanced Management Program from Wharton Business School, USA. He has been on the board of several companies in India and Europe including BAE, UK, Actis Private Equity, UK, Riverina Bio Energy, Australia, and TCI Srei Finance. He has also been on the Board of Governors of the IIM, Bangalore.

A retired Indian Administrative Services officer, Venkataraman Subramanian was the Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India. He has rich experience of policy making and implementation levels in several sectors, including finance, aviation, energy, labour, etc. As Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, his path breaking initiatives resulted in doubling the grid connected renewable power generation capacity in less than three years. He is a founder member of the Indian Renewable Energy Federation, and serves as a director to leading public and private sector companies. He also works as a freelance consultant and is a well-known speaker on renewable energy.

Per Hornung Pedersen

Per Hornung Pedersen

Per Hornung Pedersen began his career at Arthur Andersen and spent 25 years in various managerial and executive positions, primarily with listed companies in the construction, packaging and telecom sector. He joined the wind industry as CFO of NEG Micon/Vestas in 2000, and moved to Suzlon in 2004. Under Mr. Pedersen’s watch, the company has transformed from a strong player in India to number five globally. He was also the CEO of REpower and succeeded in doubling turnover to 1.2 billion euros and quadrupled EBITA to around 100 million euros. He is a senior advisor to MCF Corporate Finance, Hamburg, Atrium Partners, Copenhagen and Apricum CleanTech Advisory, Berlin. Complementing his long experience in business strategy and development within the wind industry and renewable sector, Mr. Pedersen has many years of international experience, managing diversity of cultures, growth and change.

Vijaya Sampath

A senior partner at the Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan, Attorneys, Vijaya Sampath, has over 35 years of experience in advising clients on M&A, joint ventures, FDI, private equity, financing and commercial agreements. She serves as an independent director to six companies. Ms. Sampath also acts as ombudsperson for the Bharti group, responsible for implementing its code of conduct and Nyaya Bharti, a CSR initiative for providing legal aid to the economically and socially disadvantaged undertrials.

Pratima Ram

Pratima Ram is an experienced banker with three decades of experience in corporate, international, investment and retail banking. Having worked in India, the USA and South Africa, she has held various positions at the State Bank of India and State Bank of India Capital Markets. Ms. Ram has also served as the Group President Finance at Punj Lloyd Group, and CEO and whole-time Director of India Infoline Finance. She currently serves as an independent director on the boards of Havells India, Nandan Denims and Cura Healthcare, and is also an advisor to India Infoline Finance. She is also on the management committee of the Bangalore Chambers of Industry and Commerce.

Mr. Brij Mohan Sharma

Brij Mohan Sharma joined banking in July 1982 as a Probationary Officer with State Bank Group. He moved to new generation private sector banking in August 1995 by joining Bank of Punjab Ltd. Mr. Sharma joined IDBI Bank Ltd. when it was floated as private sector entity in April 2002.

He has worked extensively in the banking sector in retail and corporate banking as well as policy level functions in branch operations, structured retail assets and assorted functions in various capacities at Corporate Office. Presently, Mr Sharma is posted as Field Chief General Manager, Pune Zone of IDBI Bank.
