Suzlon receives 50.4 MW order from Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.
- GSFCâs total wind power capacity to be 123.4 MW after project completion
- Fifth order from GSFC
Pune: Suzlon Group, one of the worldâs leading and Indiaâs largest wind turbine
manufacturer, has announced the signing of an order with Gujarat State Fertilizers &
Chemicals Limited (GSFC) to set up, operate and maintain wind energy projects totaling
to 50.4 MW in Gujarat. GSFC is a leading state Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in
Gujarat in the field of fertilizers and chemicals.
The projects, utilising 24 units of Suzlonâs S88â2.1 MW wind turbine, will be set up
in wind farms operated by Suzlon in the Rajkot and Surendranagar districts of Gujarat.
This is GSFCâs fifth order with Suzlon and is scheduled for completion and commissioning
by September 2011.
The new projects will increase GSFCâs total wind power capacity to 123.4 MW. GSFC
currently has existing projects of 73 MW in Gujarat located in the Kutch and Porbandar
districts. GSFCâs 10 MW project at Bada village in the Kutch district is the companyâs first
wind energy project to be successfully registered under the UN Clean Development
Mechanism (CDM), earning carbon credits. Other projects are in the process of being
registered.
