The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, or Rio +20, marks the 20th anniversary of the 1992 Earth Summit, and will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (20-22 June 2012). The aim of the conference is to secure renewed global political commitment for sustainable development. The two themes in focus are:

    1. A green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication
    2. Institutional framework for sustainable development
