Our S111 is the latest product from the 2.1 MW platform. This wind turbines generator is available in two categories:

1. S111 90m tower has the following features:-

The S111 Advantage

S111 delivers the advantages of a Smart, Strong and Safe product.

Strong

S111 has a larger rotor diameter of 111.8 meters and swept area of more than 9,500 square meters. It transcends height limitations, making generation possible even at low wind sites. It is available in variants of 50 Hz and 60 Hz, making it compatible for a variety of climatic conditions. All these features, supported by Suzlon's SURE suite of total life cycle care services, ensure that the investment in S111 turbines yields maximum returns.

Smart

S111 is built on technology that makes optimum use of available wind resources for profitable investment in wind power. Asynchronous Induction Generator with 6 pole design and DFIG enables variable speed operation and accommodates fluctuating utility demands through optimal reactive power to feed the necessary consumption patterns. Six yaw drives enable enhanced control, balancing and load sharing, making the S111 turbine more stable and responsive. The SB54 blades, designed and manufactured by Suzlon are tested at our state-of-the-art dynamic blade testing facility for the total lifecycle (one million cycle), simulating most extreme onsite conditions at parameters far exceeding the industry baseline.

Safe

S111 is built for easy and secure operation and maintenance to ensure higher machine availability. The turbines have safe & efficient nacelle design features improved ventilation for better air cooling within the nacelle and an onboard crane for ease of maintenance, thus achieving higher reliability and machine availability.

Wider product range

Products for wide range of wind sites

S111 is designed for a broader range of wind sites globally, allowing Suzlon to meet our customer's increasing demand for wind energy and efficiently harness more winds across the world. It transcends height limitations, making generation possible even at low wind sites such as IEC Class III sites.

Different frequency and temperature versions

S111 tubular and hybrid variants are customized for high and low temperatures. The low-temperature versions can withstand temperatures as low as -40 degrees centigrade. The turbine has been designed for both 50 Hz and 60 Hz frequency markets. S111 hybrid tower comes with ASTM certified high grip coating on bolting surfaces and CH4 anti-corrosion surface paint that can withstand extreme weather conditions.

Variable hub heights

S111 also offers expanded hub height options of 90 meters and 120 meters, allowing higher power generation and greater cost optimization in low to medium wind speeds.

Third party certifications

To validate the turbine performance and ensure the highest quality standards, the S111 turbines have a set of certifications from various third party agencies. They are certified to signify conformity with standards and regulations for its design, testing and manufacturing and indicates its adherence to the Indian Grid Regulations.

Higher Return on Investment

Higher Generation

S111 machines have an increased rotor diameter of 111.8 meters. The larger swept area results in increased power generation and increased overall return on investment of the machine. Six yaw drives enable enhanced control, balancing and load sharing, making the S111 turbine more stable and responsive. Better turbine efficiency and improved technology also contribute to increased power generation.

Higher Efficiency

Suzlon's DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Generator) is based on proven technology and improves the return on investment by offering a system that accommodates fluctuating utility demands through optimal reactive power to meet demand patterns. A compact and modular DFIG design allows ease of service ability and meets the latest grid requirements for smoother wind power plant connectivity.

Improved Technology

The S111 machines are state-of-the-art. The increased rotor diameter of 111.8 meters and increased swept area of 9,500 square meters provide increased power generation. The turbines are also grid friendly and compliant with grid regulations. Improved sub-systems like the new pitch and yaw systems result in increased system reliability. The variable speed operation also offers enhanced noise compliance.

Better reliability

The focus of the S111 design was to maximize turbine reliability leading to the inclusion of the following features and sub-systems.

  • A new pitch system with a new pitch master and battery box have been designed and incorporated for better pitching control and operation, resulting in higher reliability and better safety systems.
  • Six yaw drives with better yawing control, improved balancing and load sharing makes the turbine more stable.
  • Corrosion protection has been increased for improved dust prevention and an increased life span. This also helps with protection against various climatic conditions. The bolting surfaces of the hybrid tower come with ASTM certified high grip coating. CH4 anti-corrosion surface paint is used for the hybrid tower.

The turbine safety has also been greatly enhanced with a Class I Lightning Protection System, in accordance with IEC Class I standards, to ensure the highest protection against lightning.

For easy maintenance, the S111 machines have new features such as access doors, extended beam cranes, optional service lifts and climb assists.

The S111 WTGs feature the SB54 blades. These blades, designed and manufactured by Suzlon are tested at our state-of-the-art dynamic blade testing facility for the total lifecycle (one million cycle), simulating most extreme onsite conditions at parameters far exceeding the industry baseline.

To ensure the highest standards in quality, Suzlon's testing far exceeds the industry baseline by simulating the total life cycle of the blade (1 million cycles) in the most extreme, on site conditions.

Enhanced safety features, design elements to improve the ease of servicing the machines and new blade designs to endure environmental impact, optimize generation and increase machine availability adds to the overall reliability of the S111suite and its output.
