| Overview of Renewable Energy |
All of us use fuel for innumerable reasons every single day of our lives. But as we know, a lot of the sources for today’s fuels such as gas, petrol, coal can not be replenished or renewed.
Fossil fuels are nonrenewable, that is, they draw on finite resources that will eventually dwindle, becoming too expensive or too environmentally damaging to retrieve. In contrast, renewable energy resources — such as wind energy — are constantly replenished and sustainable. |
| Types of Renewable Energy: |
- Solar energy - can be used directly for heating and lighting
- Wind energy - captured in turbines to generate electricity
- Water energy – hydropower
- Other types include biomass, tidal, hydrogen, geothermal, ocean energy etc
